Kazakhstan has the 11th largest proven reserves of both petroleum and natural gas.
In Kazakhstan, by 2025, it is planned to build 103 million square meters of housing. The share of the construction industry in the country's GDP in 2020 is 6.1%. UZBEKISTAN
Uzbekistan is a major producer and exporter of cotton. The country is also the largest electricity producer in Central Asia. Uzbekistan has large liquid assets, high economic growth, and low public debt. Minerals and mining are important to Uzbekistan's economy. Gold, alongside cotton, is a major foreign exchange earner, unofficially estimated at around 20% of total exports. Uzbekistan holds the fourth-largest gold reserves in the world. Uzbekistan has an abundance of natural gas, used both for domestic consumption and export; oil used for domestic consumption.
In the first quarter of 2022, Uzbekistan showed an increase in construction work by 23.1% more than in the same period in 2021. The growth rate of construction work in the first half of 2021 amounted to 100.1%. Of the total number of construction enterprises, 56.9% relate to the construction of buildings and structures, 9.9% - to the construction of civil facilities, 33.2% carry out specialized construction work.
AZERBAIJAN
Azerbaijan's importance as a world mineral producer, however, was based on its petroleum extracting industry. Two-thirds of Azerbaijan is rich in oil and natural gas. The country has been a significant oil producer for more than a century, but recent focus has been on developing offshore resources in the Caspian Sea. In 2005, Azerbaijan had signed more than 20 major agreements to develop oilfields with approximately 30 companies from 15 countries. As of 2005, Azerbaijan produced a range of metals and industrial minerals, including aluminum, lead, iron, and zinc.
The building industry in Azerbaijan is the second largest investment after the oil sector. At the same time, an increase in the housing stock (construction of residential buildings) is one of the main indicators of the country's socio-economic development.
MONGOLIA
Economic activity in Mongolia has long been based on herding and agriculture, although development of extensive mineral deposits of copper, coal, molybdenum, tin, tungsten and gold have emerged as a driver of industrial production. Besides mining (21.8% of GDP) and agriculture (16% of GDP), dominant industries in the composition of GDP are wholesale and retail trade and service, transportation and storage, and real estate activities. Because of a boom in the mining sector, Mongolia had high growth rates in 2007 and 2008 (9.9% and 8.9%, respectively).
Mining is important to the national economy of Mongolia. Mongolia is one of the 29 resource-rich developing countries in exploration of copper and coal deposits, they are generating substantial additional revenue. Coal, copper, and gold are the principal reserves mined in Mongolia.
